Today we’re deciding on wood (Chechen top, Osage bottom) and etching style (engraved left, embossed right) for the Rope Knot plugs.
Don’t worry, we’re still working on the Carrick Bends too, keep an eye out tomorrow to see them all finished up!
For these guys, do you like Chechen or Osage and engraved or embossed?

This week the OO design team is working on Bird Dwellings. We’re pretty excited about the possibility of an asymmetrical pair (house & nest?)!
First, we wanted to see which of these concept sketches you guys would like to see us move forward with. House, cage, or nest?

Alright, here’s where we’re at with the Praying Mantis Prototypes:
We moved forward with the two sketches you guys liked best yesterday & now we’re figuring out the woods. We really wanted Verawood (the 2 on the bottom) to work out, it’s the only green wood we work with. As you can see though, it just doesn’t offer the same contrast when etched that Swiss Pear and Chechen (top 2) do.
What do you guys think?

They’re crafted from Verawood and set with Antique Bronze Cameos we cast in-house.
